Ningxia : The world’s golden area for growing wine grapes

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, in the northwest of China. The region consists of mainly the Hui people (one of the 56 nationalities in China). The region has about 7.2 million people.

Ningxia is a land made fertile by the Yellow River. Among the nine provinces along the Yellow River, Ningxia is the only one that the Yellow River flows across the whole region.

Surrounded by the mountains, Ningxia is blessed with stunning natural scenery. It was an important trading post along the Silk Road. The mottled Great Wall in Ningxia tells stories of the distant past and witnesses the chapters of a new era. It is recognized as the world’s golden area for growing wine grapes, and also the hometown of Chinese wolfberry and Tan sheep.
