Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe shot dead
Kathmandu, 8 July 2022 Friday / Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe died at age 67, after being shot during a campaign speech on Friday in Nara, central Japan.
He bled to death from gunshot wounds to his neck and heart and had no vital signs when he was brought in, medical staff from Nara Medical University Hospital said.
The suspected gunman, reportedly a former maritime self-defense force member, said he had a grudge against a specific organization and thought Shinzo Abe was connected to that organization, Nara Prefecture police told a press conference.
Abe’s funeral is scheduled on July 12 and his body will be transferred to his home in Tokyo early Saturday, said government officials. People’s Daily
