Prayers Meeting and lighting program in Lumbini
Kathmandu, 2022 January 1, Saturday/ A grand prayers conference and lighting program held in Lumbini, the birth place of lord Gautam Buddha on the occasion of New year 2022. The program was organized by Lumbini based Chinese monastry on 1 January. The program was attended by hundreds of Monks and they prayed for the welfare of human being and entire living animals.
At the event, more than 100 Buddhist monks prayed for world peace, the well-being of all human beings, and a happy life. The coordinator of the program and chairman of the Chinese Buddhist followers in Nepal, Xia Qing said that by attending the holy land of Lord Gautam Buddha on the auspicious occasion of the New Year, the welfare of all human beings, world peace and the world affected by the Corona epidemic may soon gain new impetus and bring happiness to mankind. He informed that a prayer meeting and lighting were held for the prosperity of human being.
The Chinese monastery distributed 80 sacks of rice and fruits to dozens of poor, helpless and destitute people at the monastery premises on Saturday morning on the occasion of New Year’s Eve.
The event was attended by more than 5,000 people including students from different schools, Buddhist monks, locals, media persons. According to local businessmen, the organization of the prayer and light flaming program has given impetus to the development of the tourism sector in Lumbini, which has been deserted for the past two years due to the Corona epidemic.
