Minister of Youth and Sports Mahendra Jung Gahatraj express his good wishes to grand success of Beijing Winter Olympics 2022
Kathmandu, 2 February 2022 Wednesday/ Minister of Youth and Sports Mahendra Jung Gahatraj ‘Athak’ express his good wishes to grand success of Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 set to start from 4th February.
Minister Gahatraj said Sports should not be politicized because it is form of unity, friendship and world peace. Everyone should keep Politics, disagreements and dissatisfaction away from sports and should march with flag of true sportsmanship. The Winter Olympics is set to begin in the Chinese capital, Beijing, from 4th February, 2022. Unfortunately, Nepali players are not selected in this competition, we did not get the opportunity to participate. However, we are very happy that our neighboring country China has organized the Winter Olympics with a strong management. This Winter Olympics will create a new kind of unity, harmony and cooperation among athletes and people around the world. Sport itself is a means of unity, harmony and reconciliation. On behalf of the Nepali people and the Government of Nepal, I would like to express my best wishes for the grand success of this Olympic Games.
We have a deep mutual friendship with China. Our relationship is very historic. It continues forever. China has made significant contribution in the field of sports infrastructure of Nepal. Even today, large-scale infrastructure in Nepal is built with the goodwill and cooperation of the Chinese government and the Chinese people. It is a matter of pride for Nepal that China, the country that produces the best players in the world, is our close neighbor. We take it as a pride. The Winter Olympics in China are for athletes. It will make a significant contribution to world peace and the development of world brotherhood. Therefore, politics should not mix with sports. Sports should be for sports. Sports should be for the development of mutual unity and brotherhood to increase friendship.
China has already sent a new message to the world by hosting the Olympics with managerial success and goodwill. This time the Winter Olympics will also give a new message and harmony to the world. Therefore, we have to keep the game away from our disagreement, dissatisfaction and politics and keep the spirit of the game high. That’s why I say the world should be in one place.
