Pakistan Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination meets Nepal Minister for Youth and Sports

Pakistan Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza held a meeting with the Nepal Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar. Dr. Fehmida Mirza is on a three day visit to Nepal to attend the Inauguration of the 13th South Asian Games.
Pakistan Minister congratulated Nepal for hosting the mega event with participation from SAARC countries. She added that such youth events helped create an environment of mutual understanding and strengthened the roots of democracy in line with the spirit of SAARC. She hoped for the reactivation of SAARC process.
The two Ministers discussed ways and means of enhancing bilateral cooperation. In that context the Pakistan Minister mentioned that 2020 being celebrated as “Visit Nepal” year by Nepal coincides with the 60th Anniversary of Pakistan-Nepal diplomatic relations. This would be a good opportunity to deepen the substantive cooperation in all areas, particularly sports and youth affairs. She also invited the Nepal Minister to visit Pakistan in 2020.
Referring to the mutual goodwill existing between the governments and the peoples of the two countries, Nepal Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar expressed his strong desire to make full use of all opportunities to strengthen the people-to-people bonds thorough sports and youth interactions.
Pakistan Minister briefed the Nepal side on regional situation and Jammu Kashmir dispute emphasizing that the present lock down in Jammu Kashmir must end immediately. She highlighted that-“regional peace and stability were pre-requisites for development and prosperity of the people which must be our priority.”
