Pakistan expresses sorrow over the devastation caused by floods and landslides in Nepal; PM Sharif announces the dispatch of relief supplies

VOK NEWS/Kathmandu- Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad today to express solidarity and sign the condolence book following the devastating flash floods and landslides that recently struck Nepal.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister was received by Ms. Rita Dhital, Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan. He was accompanied by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and other senior officials.

In his condolence message, Prime Minister Sharif extended his heartfelt sympathies to the government and people of Nepal, as well as to the bereaved families affected by the tragedy. Reiterating the support he previously expressed during a telephonic conversation with Nepali Prime Minister Balendra Shah, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Nepal in this difficult hour.

According to the Pakistani Embassy in Nepal, The Prime Minister announced that Pakistan would dispatch an emergency relief package to Nepal later this week to aid ongoing rescue and relief efforts. He assured continued support and expressed confidence that the resilient people of Nepal would overcome this crisis stronger. Highlighting the close, fraternal ties between the two nations, he emphasized that Pakistan and Nepal will always stand by each other during challenging times.

Ambassador Dhital expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his reassuring message, stating that the Nepali people would deeply appreciate this gesture. She also briefed him on the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries.
