Pakistani Embassy provides scholarships to Nepali students
VOK NEWS/Kathmandu, 2026 June 17: The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal has awarded scholarships to more than 200 outstanding Nepali students under the 14th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Program.

The scholarship ceremony was held at Aloft Hotel in Kathmandu and brought together students, teachers, parents, and representatives from Nepal’s education and media sectors. The scholarships were awarded to deserving Higher Secondary School students selected by their respective schools based on merit and financial need.
The event was presided over by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, who personally presented the scholarships and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s education sector.
To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a laptop was awarded to Ms. Prapti Lamsal of the Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus, Tribhuvan University, in recognition of her outstanding academic performance among this year’s scholarship recipients.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi described the event as “a celebration of Nepal’s future” and encouraged students to develop expertise in STEM, health sciences, biosciences, innovation, diplomacy, financial literacy, and critical thinking.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s broader educational assistance to Nepal, including scholarships for primary and higher secondary students, higher education opportunities in Pakistan, and institutional support in information technology, sports, liberal arts, and STEM education.
