Under the guidance of the two presidents, Sino-Russian ties are marching toward the goal that ensures the two countries lend support to each other, build stronger synergy in development strategies and secure mutual benefits and win-win cooperation through pioneering efforts and innovation, Xi said.

As the CPC and United Russia are the ruling parties of the two countries, Xi said that they shoulder the responsibility and mission of achieving bigger progress in advancing bilateral ties in the new era.

Xi expressed hope that the representatives of both parties attending the meeting will fully communicate with each other to make contributions to intensifying bilateral ties as well as promoting world peace and prosperity.

Gryzlov extended his congratulations on the success of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC in October, and said Russia-China ties have reached unprecedented high-level development over the past years with mutually beneficial cooperation thriving in various fields and coordination in resolving international and regional issues efficient and fruitful.

His party stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, and further advance the development of bilateral ties, Gryzlov said.

When addressing the session later in the day, Song Tao, minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said interaction and cooperation between ruling parties of China and Russia are an important part of the two countries’ political foundation.

Song expressed hope that the two parties will work together to turn the dialogue mechanism into a special channel and unique platform for implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state, serving the two parties and two states in developing strategic communication, enhancing the two countries’ political mutual trust and building closer people-to-people bonds as well as raising the level of their strategic coordination.

The dialogue mechanism was launched in Beijing in June 2009. It is considered a high-level mechanism between the ruling parties of China and Russia to conduct dialogue on some macroscopic, strategic and forward-looking issues.
